Before establishing the marine consultancy and surveying firm – T&A Marine Consultants and Surveyors Co. Ltd. in Shanghai in September of 2018, Tony has served as a marine surveyor and consultant since 2005.
Tony has handled a number of high profile salvage and wreck removals in China, including the ‘Agios Dimitrios I’ ‘Bareli’, ‘Sanchi’, ‘APL Los Angeles’ case. His native language abilities, regional contacts and culture understanding have been proved to be vital in expediting a quick and successful outcome in many instances. This membership allows him to know better about the salvors’ capacity and developments in China.
Benefited from the career on the sea and surveying work, Tony has developed a wide knowledge and obtained practical experience on the majority of cargoes which are shipped to or exported from China, including dry bulk commodities ranging from Coal, fertilizer, Ores, steel products, project cargo, heavy lift to grains and liquid cargoes such as crude oil, product oil and chemicals.
Tony always offers sensible and practical advice to Owners, Charterers and their insurers on cargo claims or disputes, and ship related incidents including collisions, groundings and oil spilling. Tony has also been engaged in various consultancy and investigation matters for litigation and arbitration proceedings in Hong Kong and London, as well as attending court hearings in Chinese Maritime Courts as expert witness.
